Ivan Sechin

Son of Igor Sechin, head of the state-owned oil company Rosneft, Ivan died on February 5 2024 at the age of 35, In 2014, Rosneft announced that Vladimir Putin had given an award to Ivan Sechin, for his “substantial contribution” to the country’s fuel and energy sector and “longstanding conscientious” work. He had been working for Rosneft as a deputy director of a department for less than a year when he got the award. The death of Sechin, who has worked for Rosneft since March 2014, hadn't been reported until exiled Russian oligarch and staunch Russian President Vladimir Putin critic Leonid Nevzlin drew attention to an entry in the national register of inheritance cases.
