David Hain’s practice encompasses business, public policy, and litigation matters. His practice has focused on the energy and infrastructure area, providing clients with both transactional and public policy guidance. Mr. Hain has gained particular knowledge of renewable energy sources. Before studying law, Mr. Hain worked at an international investment bank conducting strategic research and advising clients on investment strategy. This experience in the financial services arena complements Mr. Hain’s work on corporate matters. Mr. Hain assists clients with structuring corporate transactions, drafting agreements, and formation of legal business entities. Mr. Hain advises a range of clients on legislative and public policy matters. Prior to joining Patton Boggs, Mr. Hain gained experience in various aspects of lawmaking while working at the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and at the New York City Council. Mr. Hain applies his knowledge of lawmaking in helping clients with their needs related to Congress and regulatory agencies. His litigation work has primarily involved health care and government investigations. As a certified mediator, Mr. Hain has devoted considerable pro bono time to mediating disputes referred by the local courts.
