Eugenia Edwards takes a proactive role in advancing client interests by communicating regularly with Congress and the current administration on a range of health care issues, while also advocating on the Hill to ensure that the client’s most pertinent concerns are being sufficiently addressed. Through her duties with the firm and through past experience, Ms. Edwards has gained vast knowledge of the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003, with particular focus on the Medicare prescription drug benefit. In addition, Ms. Edwards also advises clients on issues related to Medicare reimbursement, Medicaid and health reform. Before arriving at Patton Boggs, Ms. Edwards worked for the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce, assisting the Subcommittee on Health counsel and professional staff with preparation and coordination of hearings and markups, and performing research on various legislative projects. In addition, she has interned for retired U.S. Senator Fred Thompson (TN) and New Orleans District Attorney Harry F. Connick, also serving as a media intern for COX Broadcasting at the 1996 Republican National Convention and as a volunteer at the 2004 Convention.
