Marie Connelly Meszaros is a member of President-elect Trump’s HHS Landing Team and a policy analyst at the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. In this role, she is responsible for federal fiscal policy, healthcare, Social Security, tax and budget issues. She has co-written papers focused on the fiscal effect of presidential candidates’ policies, as well as accountable care organizations and telemedicine. Prior to joining the committee, Meszaros served as a legislative assistant to Rep. Mark Sanford (R-SC), a member of the House Budget Committee. In this role, she was responsible for the office’s health, tax, insurance, and labor and employment portfolios. In addition, she served as counsel to the Cause of Action Institute, where she worked on cases related to healthcare data privacy and worked with state healthcare entities on ACA implementation. She has served as a pharmacy technician and a HIPAA compliance officer for a South Carolina-based medical group. Meszaros is the co-founder of ReNew, a conservative strategy group for young professionals that is now part of the Conservative Reform Network. She was the research director to the Palmetto Family Council, a faith-based educational foundation in South Carolina. Meszaros holds a bachelor’s in biology from the University of South Carolina University and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame.
