Nancy R. Barbour, a Government Policy Advisor with Dykema, will be attending the Democratic Convention in Denver and the Republican Convention in Minneapolis this summer as Conventions Liaison to The Creative Coalition, the premier nonprofit, nonpartisan social and political advocacy organization of the entertainment industry. Andrew J. Buczek, also a Government Policy Advisor with Dykema, will attend the Conventions as well. The Creative Coalition was formed in 1989 by prominent figures in the creative community for the charitable and educational purposes of bringing together artists and entertainers to learn about pressing issues so they can better inform and influence the community and the nation. Ms. Barbour will attend the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in the summer of 2008, to assist artists and entertainers in meeting with the candidates or their representatives for the purpose of discussing issues of public importance. Ms. Barbour is a recipient of commendations from several public entities and she is a frequent speaker at educational seminars. She serves on the Board of Advisors to the Close Up Foundation, and has served on the Citizens Advisory Board of the Virginia Baseball Stadium Authority. She has been elected to a second term to the Citizens Research Foundation, an organization seeking reform of the federal election system. Ms. Barbour received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan. She is not a lawyer.
