As a graduate of Mathematical Sciences from Rice University, Rusty worked in Houston and Boston before joining the volunteer forces full-time when her oldest child was born. She has volunteered a lot, initially in the classroom at her children’s school, Greenhill, where she eventually joined the Board of Trustees. Following in the footsteps of other trustees there, she has volunteered and supported a host of progressive social service and educational institutions and programs, including Family Place, Planned Parenthood, Girl’s Inc., Dallas Women’s Foundation and many others. She’s served First Unitarian Church of Dallas as a council member, religious education teacher, and member of the Board of Trustees. In her spare time, she is a very serious student of yoga and has recently taken up knitting, as well as attending theater and dance around town. Rusty also volunteers weekly at Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center.
