Appointed to the newly created position of Director of Government Affairs, Mr. Bold was most recently the director of public policy for the California Healthcare Institute (CHI), a statewide research and advocacy organization representing California's leading academic biosciences research, biotechnology, medical device and pharmaceutical organizations. In this position, Mr. Bold managed the political and legislative agenda for California's biomedical industry at both the state and federal levels. Before joining CHI, Mr. Bold served as the legislative director for former U.S. Representative Lynn Schenk (D-San Diego), where he specialized in legislative issues under the jurisdiction of the House Commerce Committee pertaining to the telecommunications and health care industries. Mr. Bold earned his bachelors degree in political economy from the University of California, Berkeley.
