Dotty Ballantyne lives in Bozeman, Montana, and spends winters in Key West, Florida. She has been involved in local, regional, and national conservation organizations as well as education (the University of Wisconsin School of Business Advisory Board and the Montana State University College of Business Board) and social service organizations. Most recently she served on the board of American Rivers and is currently on the board of the Gallatin Valley Land Trust in Bozeman. She had a career in the financial services sector and, after retirement, did some international consulting in England, Australia, and Lithuania. She has a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin.
