As Executive Director of Village Theater Company (The Tull Family Theater), Carolina Pais-Barreto Beyers leads the Sewickley-based film nonprofit established to improve access to the arts in communities northwest of Pittsburgh. Recognized as a creative and dynamic leader with wide ranging professional experience, Carolina has secured sizeable funding from private and public sources to advance purpose-driven efforts. Carolina’s entrepreneurial mindset led to a successful consulting career built upon her work in nonprofit management, economic development, and public affairs. With an MBA and a Masters of Arts in Corporate Communication—both from Duquesne University—Carolina holds undergraduate degrees in English and Secondary Education from Harding University in Arkansas. Active in many nonprofit organizations, she currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and of Neighborhood Allies. Carolina is also a regular speaker at The Pittsburgh Promise career development events. Carolina was born in Recife, Brazil, immigrating to the U.S. as a teenager. Growing up in a developing country has instilled in her the passion to advocate for underrepresented populations—a consistent thread in her personal and professional endeavors.
