Ms. Peirce is a Senior Research Fellow and Director of the Financial Markets Working Group at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, where she has worked since 2012. Ms. Peirce served on Senator Richard Shelby’s staff on the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs from 2008 to 2011. From 2000 to 2008, Ms. Peirce served at the Securities and Exchange Commission as a Staff Attorney in the Division of Investment Management and as Counsel to Commissioner Paul Atkins. Before that, she clerked for Judge Roger B. Andewelt on the Court of Federal Claims and was an associate at a Washington, D.C. law firm. Ms. Peirce received her B.A. from Case Western Reserve University and her J.D. from Yale Law School.
