Adam Freed was appointed to the Board on October 8, 2013. Mr. Freed is a consultant in the Sustainability Practice at Bloomberg Associates. Previously, Mr. Freed was the Deputy Managing Director of The Nature Conservancy’s Global Water Program, where he focused on helping cities have safe, sustainable, and reliable water supplies and on mitigating water risks in corporate supply chains. Mr. Freed also previously served as the Deputy Director of the New York City Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability, where he oversaw the implementation of and process to update the city’s long-term sustainability plan (PlaNYC) and advised Mayor Michael Bloomberg on sustainability and climate-related issues. Prior to working for the City, Mr. Freed was the Assistant Comptroller for New York City in the Office of the New York State Comptroller. Mr. Freed received his master's degree in Urban Planning from New York University and was a Mel King Community Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a Lecturer at Columbia University.
