Ira A Fishman

Ira Fishman draws on more than 20 years of legal experience and senior positions in government, business and the non-profit sector to advise clients on matters involving public policy, crisis management and education, including education technology. In 2004 Mr. Fishman was named Chief Operating Officer of Patton Boggs. One of the nation’s leaders in education technology, Mr. Fishman served as special counsel and director of the Task Force on Education at the Federal Communications Commission and was named the founding CEO of the Schools and Libraries Corporation, a non-profit that provides $2.25 billion annually to K-12 schools and public libraries. Mr. Fishman was also founding CEO of HiFusion, an innovative education and consumer media company that he has since sold. Mr. Fishman also served as deputy assistant to the president for legislative affairs at the White House and as vice president for congressional and external affairs at the Export-Import Bank of the United States. Mr. Fishman originally joined Patton Boggs in 1983, but left the firm for a number of years in which he acquired substantial experience in business and the executive branch. He rejoined Patton Boggs in 2001.
