Eva Wohn brings over twenty years of corporate, national & state government and international experience in telecommunications and electricity regulation and lobbying. She is currently Legal Advisor to the US Department of Defense, in Baghdad, to reform Iraq’s telecom sector. Previously, she worked as a consultant for the Department of State including: legal advisor for the Iraq Ministry of Electricity’s regulatory efforts; compiling a report on the efficacy of US funded capacity development programs in Iraq; and legal advisor for the Iraq Reconstruction & Management Office where she advised the Communications and Media Commission. Prior to her international assignments, Ms. Wohn focused on the deregulation of the wireless sector by state and federal agencies. She headed the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association’s State Affairs Division and served as Vice-President at AT&T Wireless for State and Regulatory Affairs. As Vice-President for External Affairs for Chicago-based US Cellular Corporation, she was instrumental in efforts to deregulate the industry at state and federal levels. Ms. Wohn began her legal career at the Illinois Commerce Commission, the state’s regulatory agency for all utilities, as Assistant Attorney General. She managed the largest US nuclear rate base hearing and the first successful telecom deregulation at the state level. She was subsequently appointed as Chief Trial Counsel and Chief Law Judge for the Commission. Ms. Wohn obtained her JD from ITT-Chicago Kent College of Law and a BA from St. Francis College. In 1999, Wireless Week named her among the top 25 most influential women in the wireless sector.
