Rick Shangraw

R.F. “Rick” Shangraw Jr. Ph.D. is the chief executive officer of the ASU Foundation for A New American University. Under Shangraw’s leadership, the foundation has grown its total assets to over $900 million; received a four-star rating from Charity Navigator; and generated nearly $400 million in new gifts and commitments. Prior to joining the foundation, Shangraw served as ASU’s senior vice president for Knowledge Enterprise Development responsible for ASU’s growing annual $350 million research portfolio. Before joining ASU, Shangraw was the founder and CEO of Project Performance Corporation, a research and technology consulting firm specializing in environmental, energy and information management issues. Shangraw holds a doctorate from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University with a specialization in technology and information policy and organization design.
