Clarence R. (Reggie) Williams has served his Nation and community in three different careers. After graduating from The College of Wooster, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force, which culminated in retirement at the rank of Colonel. He then served at USAA, a fortune 200 financial services company, and retired from USAA as a Senior Vice President of Information Systems Operations. After retiring from USAA, he was recruited to serve as the President/CEO of the San Antonio Area Foundation and performed in that role until his most recent retirement. Reggie’s work at the San Antonio Area Foundation resulted in tremendous asset growth, community outreach and programmatic initiatives for community improvement. Reggie has wide community interests. He has mentored at-risk students, organized the Youth Arts and Culture Exposure Program and served on many community improvement committees. He has served on the boards of the College of Wooster, Christus Santa Rosa Health System (past Chairman), Christus Health System, Tobin Performing Arts Center, and the UT Medical Branch Galveston Development and the University of Texas Health Science Center Department of Humanities and Ethics Advisory Board. Reggie also has served as President of the Rotary Club of San Antonio, which became the largest Rotary Club in the world under his leadership and he later became an officer of Rotary International as a District Governor. He is a graduate of the College of Wooster, OH (BA); Westfield State, MA (MEd); and, has performed Doctoral Study at Auburn University. He also is a graduate of the National Defense University’s Armed Forces Staff College and The Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He is married to Burnedette Acker-Williams (Buzz). They have two children, Bradley R. Williams (deceased) and Carrie E. Williams-McCoy.
