Jason Adolfo Otaño

Jason Adolfo Otaño is the General Counsel of the New York City Council, where over the last decade he has represented the legal interests of the legislative body of the City and advised all 51 of its members and their staff. Holding the rank of Major, he also serves as a reserve officer in the United States Army JAG Corps. Jason previously served for four years as Counsel to former Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, advising on legal and policy issues and the implementation of initiatives borough-wide. During his tenure at Brooklyn Borough Hall, he also served as the President of Best of Brooklyn, a nonprofit that sponsored and produced diverse programming and he was instrumental in founding the spinoff Brooklyn Book Festival.
