H. Kent Bowen has been Bruce Rauner Professor of Business Administration at Harvard University's Graduate School of Business since July 1992. At Harvard, Dr. Bowen's research and teaching is in the field of operations and technology management and was appointed the William Barclay Harding Professor of Business Administration in 1993. Prior to joining Harvard in 1992, Dr. Bowen served as Engineering Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1970 to 1992 where he was Ford Professor of Engineering and Co-founder of the Leaders for Manufacturing Program. He has been a Director of Ceramics Process Systems Corp. since 1984. He has been Director of General Signal Corp. since March 1996. He has been a Director of Intrinsix Corp. since December 1999. He serves as Director of SPX Corporation. He served as a Member of Advisory Board and Director of Infiniroute Networks, Inc. He served as Director of Harvard Business School Publishing Corporation. He served as Director of Allegheny Technologies Inc. from May 6, 2004 to June 30, 2008. and Align Technology Inc. from May 2000 to May 15, 2008. He served as Director of CPS Technologies Corp., from 1984 to June 2008. He is the author of a recent book, The Perpetual Enterprise Machine. Dr. Bowen received a BS in Engineering from the University of Utah and a PhD in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
