George M Rapier

George M. Rapier, III, M.D., has been the Chief Executive Officer of USMD Holdings, Inc. since September 30, 2016. Since 1985, Dr. Rapier has been an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the UT Health Science Center. Dr. Rapier serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at WellMed Medical Management, Inc. Dr. Rapier developed and continued to work with specialists to implement disease management programs to enhance the quality of life for WellMed patients. Dr. Rapier served as Medical Director of Phoenix Group Corp. (now Lighting Science Group Corp.) since May 15, 2002, for which he was the Owner. Dr. Rapier founded WellMed in 1990. He served as President of WellMed Medical Management, Inc. and served as its Chief Executive Officer until October 2007. Dr. Rapier also led the development of clinical health protocol screening systems to access and evaluate clinical, lab and medication data, assisting in providing preventive health and screening recommendations to physicians. He had a longstanding relationship with United Health Group as well as a number of other Health Plans. Dr. Rapier has been a Director of USMD Holdings, Inc. since September 30, 2016. He has been a Director of Potrero Medical, Inc. since February 2016. He has been a Director of RxAdvance Corporation since March 2014. Dr. Rapier served as Chairman of a number of crucial committees required for medical group expansion and contributed significantly in relevance to the changing payer and income structure of today's medical group practice. He is a noted Physician.
