David Adamany

David Adamany is Laura H. Carnell Professor of Law and Political Science at Temple University. His academic interests are in election law, constitutional law, and the Supreme Court as an institution. From 2000 to 2006, Adamany served as president of Temple University, where he is now chancellor, and he served as president of Wayne State University from 1982 to 1997. He was interim chief executive officer of the Detroit Public Schools from 1999 to 2000. From 1961 to 1963, Adamany was pardon counsel to the Governor of Wisconsin, and from 1963 to 1965, he was a member of the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. He served as Wisconsin Secretary of Revenue from 1974 to 1976 and a member of the Wisconsin Elections Board from 1974 to 1977. He was a member of the Michigan Civil Service Commission from 1996 to 1999. He has served on numerous governmental, civic, corporate, hospital, and professional association committees and boards of directors. From 1993 o 1999, he was a member of the Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity in the United States Department of Education. At Temple University, Adamany teaches courses on the American political system and on the Supreme Court to undergraduates and a course on election law at the Beasley School of Law. He has authored or co-authored four books and one edited volume, as well as 50 articles, essays, and reviews.
