Dr. Raghu is a UW professor of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and director of the Interstitial Lung Disease/Sarcoid/Pulmonary Fibrosis Program. He is also medical director of the Lung Transplant Program and holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Mysore Medical College in India. After an internship there, he went to the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in Hartlepool, England, for a residency in general medicine and chest medicine. He then moved to Buffalo, N.Y., where he was chief medical resident at SUNY Buffalo. He came to the UW in 1983 for a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine and then also completed a fellowship in lung cell biology here before joining the faculty.
