Kate Hathaway is a producer of live theatrical productions, most recently Ann, the Broadway play presented at Lincoln Center about former Texas Governor Ann Richards, which starred Holland Taylor, who also wrote the piece. Among her current productions, Kate has contributed capital and time raising funds for the current production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. Having been a stage actress her entire life, Kate continues to take on roles from time to time, as well as perform in cabaret environments. Long an LGBT ally, Kate serves on the Board, and the Board’s Executive Committee, of the Empire State Pride Agenda, the foremost organization in New York State that raises and advances rights of LGBT individuals and their families. Kate was particularly active in successfully seeking marriage equality in New York State. Kate’s current theatrical focus combines many of her interests, and she is with a creative team now developing a new musical currently entitled Southern Comfort, which tells the true story of challenges faced by transgendered Robert Eads, and celebrates his “chosen family” in Georgia.
