Peter Benedek merged his Bauer-Benedek Agency with Leading Artists Agency to form UTA in 1991 and served as its Partner. Mr. Benedek is involved in the agency’s Branding, Licensing & Endorsements division. Mr. Benedek has overseen UTA’s successful expansion into corporate representation. He was the Chief Strategist behind UTA’s launch of United Entertainment Group. He began practicing law at the Beverly Hills law firm of Kaplan, Livingston, Goodwin, Berkowitz & Selvin and was its Partner since 1979 and served there until 1981. In 1981, he founded the law firm of Weissman, Wolff, Bergman, Coleman & Schulman. In 1984, he left the practice of law to form Bauer-Benedek Agency. He is an active Supporter of other L.A.-based organizations including the Rape Treatment Center at UCLA and the Motion Picture Television Fund. Mr. Benedek serves on the Boards of the Hammer Museum and the Paley Center for Media (formerly, the Museum of Television and Radio) in Los Angeles. He additionally serves on the Board of Governors of the L.A. Free Clinic, as well as on the Board of the non-profit UTA Foundation. He earned undergraduate degrees from the University of Michigan and the London School of Economics. He earned his Law degree from Columbia Law School, where he graduated with distinction in 1973.
