As a member of the management team Kirsten provides leadership and strategic support to Managing Directors, Directors and Practice Specialists in the Associate Practice Group nationwide. She is responsible for recruiting, hiring and developing top-of-the-market search professionals and implementing best recruiting practices across her team. An advocate for MLA's clients as well, Kirsten is committed to developing and enhancing MLA's service offerings and strengthening relationships through direct client engagement. During her legal recruiting career, Kirsten represented partners and associates from Chicago and throughout the Midwest in the lateral market. She also collaborated with MLA’s in-house placement specialists to provide her candidates with local, national and global in-house opportunities. Prior to joining MLA, Kirsten practiced law at Wisconsin’s premier family law litigation boutique. She frequently served as court-appointed guardian ad litem for children. Kirsten co-authored, The System Book for Family Law, published by the State Bar of Wisconsin, and authored several published articles exploring various stages of career development for attorneys. Prior to her law career, Kirsten worked in admissions and student services at independent schools and universities throughout New England. Kirsten earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She attended graduate school at the University of Rhode Island on a full scholarship, earning a Master’s Degree in Human Development, Counseling and Family Studies. While there, she performed extensive research in the areas of leadership and management development; including the creation and instruction of several undergraduate leadership development courses.
