Miriam Frank is a Partner and Vice President, In-House Practice Group, based in the firm's San Diego office. A Midwest native, she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from New York City's Barnard College and received her master's and law (cum laude) degrees from the University of Michigan. Miriam joined Major, Lindsey & Africa in 1993 after holding positions as a commercial litigation associate with Katten Muchin Rosenman, Associate Counsel with American Hospital Supply Corporation, Chief Litigation Counsel for Heller Financial, Inc., and as a legal recruiter with a local firm. As a legal search consultant with MLA, Miriam’s practice focused primarily on conducting senior level searches on behalf of corporate law departments in a wide range of industries, all over the country. Miriam also used her experience as a former in-house lawyer to counsel candidates at all levels who are interested in making a move in-house. Her particular skills in understanding both the talents and goals of candidates and the culture and ''chemistry'' of corporate law departments led candidates to consult her repeatedly over the course of their careers; the same talents resulted in multiple placements with many of her clients. As Vice President, Miriam is responsible for MLA’s global In-House Practice, which provides legal search consulting services to our corporate and not-for-profit clients. She also directly supports the members of the West Region In-House Practice Team, providing leadership and back-up on searches, ensuring outstanding client service and facilitating ongoing professional development of the MLA team members.
