John Compton is Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo Americas Foods, a position he has held since November 2007. PepsiCo Americas Foods (PAF) has a food and snack portfolio which includes Frito-Lay North America, Quaker, Sabritas, Gamesa, PepsiCo’s Latin American food businesses, and North American Power of One Retail Sales teams. Prior to being named President and CEO of QTG in March 2005, John served as Vice Chairman and President of the North American Salty Snacks Division of Frito-Lay. There he led over 40,000 employees and consistently placed Frito-Lay in the leading growth ranks of consumer packaged goods companies. Prior to being named President in March 2003, he served as the Chief Marketing Officer where he championed the conversion of the entire salty snack portfolio to be totally free of trans fats. From 1998 through 2001, he served as Senior Vice President of Sales for the United States and Canada. In addition, in 2001, he served as the North American Integration Officer for PepsiCo’s merger with Quaker. After graduating from the University of Tennessee in 1983, John joined Frito-Lay as a Production Supervisor in the Pulaski, Tennessee manufacturing plant. John spent his first three years in progressive manufacturing assignments. After moving to Dallas, he served the Marketing Department with an increasing level of responsibilities. In 1989, he joined the sales function as Area Vice President and later became Vice President of National Sales and Chief Customer Officer. John was elected to the Pepsi Bottling Group Board of Directors in March of 2008. John is a member of the advisory board of directors at the University of Tennessee. He chaired the 2004 and 2005 American Heart Walk in Dallas. John, his wife, Cindy, and their three children live in New Canaan, Connecticut.
