Niki Erlenmeyer-Kimling, Ph.D., is Chief of Medical Genetics at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and a Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Genetics and Development at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University. She received her Doctorate in Experimental Psychology and Behavior Genetics from Columbia University in 1961 and an Honorary Doctorate of Science from the State University of New York at Purchase in 1997. Dr. Erlenmeyer-Kimling's research has focused on genetic aspects of schizophrenia and a 30-year longitudinal study that has followed children at genetic risk for schizophrenia from childhood to adulthood.
