Mr. David was a founding faculty member of the Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW), established in 1968 at the University of Houston. Before joining the faculty at GSSW, he served on the faculty of West Virginia University and was director of the University of Toronto Family Diagnosis Research Project for more than four years. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to his academic career in the United States, he served with the Government of Burma and on the National Council of Churches Relief Committee of India. In addition, he served as a Congressional Delegate from Texas to the 1995 White House Conference on Aging (WHCoA), held in Washington, D.C. That same year, he also organized the Metropolitan Houston Area Pre- WHCoA and served as a faculty member for the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) 1995 Meeting of the Profession Seminar, held in Philadelphia. In 1996, he was appointed a member of the Presidential Leadership Task Force.
