Tobias Schlingensiepen

Tobias Schlingensiepen was born in Berlin, Germany, and moved to the United States with his family at age 2, moving to Topeka a year later, where he currently resides. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas and a master's degree in divinity from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms Universitaect in Bonn, Germany. Schlingensiepen was pastor and youth minister at Seabrook United Church of Christ in Topeka from 1999 to 2005. He is on leave as senior minister of First Congregationalist Church in Topeka where he has been since 2005. He has served as chaplain for the Topeka Police Department since 2000, which is a volunteer position. Schlingensiepen and his wife, Abigail, have eight children.
