Born in Texas City, Texas on July 11, 1926, John graduated from Calvert High School. Upon his return from service with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during the final years of WWII, he enrolled at the University of Texas where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electric Engineering in 1950. After working with General Electric in Pittsfield, MA and Schenectady, NY, John graduated from Harvard Business School where he received an MBA with Distinction in 1955. John had a long and extemely successful career in business, beginning in 1955 with Texas Instruments in the earliest years of the electronics industry. He remained with TI for over 20 years, serving as Vice President and as head of the core divisions of that company before moving on to pursue other ventures, adventures, and investments. John is survived by Patricia Seiders Brougher, his wife of over 66 years, and his children John III & Patricia K. Brougher, MD, Anne Goudelock, Laura Brougher, and David & Sandra Brougher. His grandchildren include John III& Pat's children: Kate & Shannon Brougher, Anne's children: Elizabeth & Jeromie Rand, and Drew & Diane Henley, and David & Sandra's children: Molly, Jackson, and Grayson Brougher. His great-children are Evelyn, Anna, and Emma Henley and Rebekah Rand. Preceding John in death were his parents, John R Brougher & Elizabeth Nowlin Brougher, and his brother, Kenneth E. Brougher. He is survived by his brother, Jerry W. Brougher of Houston, TX.
