Dean Patenaude, executive vice president at Artisan Partners Asset Management Inc., died Sunday September 11 2016 after suffering a stroke, the company said. He was 53 years old. Prior to joining the firm in March 2009, Mr. Patenaude was a senior vice president and head of global distribution for Affiliated Managers Group, Inc. (AMG), where he liaised between AMG and the institutional investment consultant and global distribution channels, and assisted with product development and marketing and client service initiatives. Before joining AMG, Mr. Patenaude was vice president and director of global consultant marketing at Wellington Management Company. He began his career in investment management at Brinson Partners, Inc. as a partner in business development. Mr. Patenaude holds a BS in Business Administration from Georgetown University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
