Gary Ford is an attorney, executive, and impact investor who focuses on market-driven approaches to help people lift themselves out of poverty. Gary currently serves as President and CEO of MCE Social Capital, an innovative nonprofit fund active in 30 countries. MCE uses philanthropic guarantees, rather than donations, to mobilize capital and generate economic opportunities for people living in the developing world. Since 2006, MCE has made over $75 million in loans to microfinance institutions and small and medium enterprises to stimulate job creation and provide people living in poverty, particularly women, access to microcredit, savings, mobile banking, education, healthcare, and insurance. Gary is an MCE Guarantor and, in connection with his impact investing, serves on the Investment Advisory Committee for Sarona Frontier Markets Fund. Gary has served as ERISA Counsel to the Senate Committee on Labor and Human Resources, as General Counsel to the federal Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, and as a Principal at Groom Law Group in Washington, D.C.
