Jeff is the James S. Kemper Foundation Professor of Liberal Arts and Business at Lake Forest College. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University. He just completed a term as chair of the Economics and Business Department, and is a previous chair of the college's Environmental Studies Program. He has led field trips for college students to destinations including Baraboo and Necedah National Wildlife Refuge in Wisconsin and the Platte River in Nebraska. His recent research examines tax incentives for the donation of conservation easements, voter support for referenda to prevent land development, and private incentives to provide public goods by voluntarily supporting land trust efforts. He is a board member and former president of the Liberty Prairie Conservancy, a county-wide land trust in Illinois.
