Michael Beer became associated with Williams & Jensen in February 2003, and became a Principal in 2005. To date, his practice has focused on appropriations, defense, energy, health, tax, trade, and transportation issues for a variety of commercial and non-profit institutions. : Mr. Beer has been active in government and politics since 1994, including involvement at city, county, state, and Federal levels. From 1997 to 2003, he was employed by Representative Dave Hobson (R-OH) in Washington, who is a senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee and Chair of its Energy and Water Subcommittee. During his tenure with Congressman Hobson as a legislative assistant and press secretary, he focused on appropriations, banking, budget, commerce, health, and tax issues. Prior to joining Representative Hobson, Mr. Beer worked at the state level for Ohio Governor George V. Voinovich, who now serves in the U.S. Senate. He also has worked on numerous municipal, county, state, and Federal elections over the last ten years. In addition, Mr. Beer served as Executive director of Pioneer Political Action Committee from 2001 to 2003 where he directed grassroots projects for 17 winning Republican House candidates and Members.
