Jasper Thomson is Associate Vice President at Van Scoyoc Associates, Inc. (VSA). He currently works with several of the firm's corporate clients specializing in federal space, defense and high technology policies, as well as science and technology research funding and higher education policy. Prior to coming to VSA, Thomson served as legislative counsel to United States Representative Dave Camp of Michigan for three and a half years. As the senior legislative assistant in Representative Camp's personal office, Thomson was responsible for handling legislative initiatives pertaining to defense, energy, science and technology, health care, tax and telecommunications issues. Thomson was also closely involved in initiatives to bring numerous Native American issues to the attention of the Speaker and House leadership. Previously, Thomson worked with several Senate campaigns while at the National Republican Senatorial Committee. He was also a member of United States Senator Rick Santorum's (Pennsylvania) victorious 1994 campaign. In these capacities his roles included grassroots efforts, raising and accounting for funds and directing research activities on issues and candidates. Thomson received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College in 1994.
