William F Poe

Poe, who also led the Poe Financial Group, was instrumental in planning and financing the Tampa City Center, the first large-scale development focused on creating a major business district in downtown Tampa. The William F. Poe Plaza, a pedestrian mall between One Tampa City Center and what is now the Hilton Downtown Tampa, is named in his honor, as is the William F. Poe Parking Garage, a 932-space structures that services the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, library, Tampa Museum of Art and other surrounding businesses.
