Lori Sharpe Day joined The Ashcroft Group, LLC as a Senior Advisor in September 2005. Ms. Day served as Vice President of Government Affairs at the Air Transport Association of America (ATA) where she directed a government relations staff in developing strategies for America's leading passenger and cargo airlines. Her responsibilities included developing industry consensus on key legislative and regulatory issues at both the state and Federal levels, focusing primarily on security, tax, and Federal Aviation Administration reform issues. The Government Affairs staff acted as the industry voice on Capitol Hill, as well as to the Federal Aviation Administration, the Transportation Security Administration and the White House. From 1995 to 2000, Ms. Day served as a Legislative Assistant and then Legislative Counsel and Deputy Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Ashcroft where she focused primarily on issues within the jurisdiction of the Senate Commerce Committee, including aviation, telecommunications, transportation, consumer protection, liability reform, technology and security issues. Additionally, she worked on Judiciary Committee issues including bankruptcy reform and merger reviews. Ms. Day began her professional career as a bank examiner in the Banking Structure and Supervision Section of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. She received her BA in Economics and her JD at the University of Oklahoma, and she is licensed to practice law in Missouri and Oklahoma. In that capacity, Ms. Day was responsible for ensuring Member Banks compliance with Federal banking regulations.
