Rebecca Klein of Austin, who failed in her November congressional bid, has been hired as managing partner of the Austin office of law firm Loeffler Tuggey Pauerstein Rosenthal LLP. Klein, former chairwoman of the Public Utility Commission of Texas, will lead the Austin location of the firm's government affairs practice, known as The Loeffler Group. Klein resigned last year from the Public Utility Commission to seek the GOP nomination for the 25th District House seat held by U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Austin. Klein lost to Doggett in the November general election. Loeffler says Klein will work closely with government affairs, international trade and traditional law practitioners in the firm's other offices in Washington, D.C., and San Antonio. Before being appointed to the Public Utility Commission, Klein was policy director for then.-Gov. George W. Bush.
