Robert H. Dunn is President and CEO of the Synergos Institute, a global nonprofit organization that helps solve the complex problems of poverty and inequality by promoting and supporting collaborations among business, government, civil society, and marginalized communities. He is also a member of Synergos’ Board of Directors. Bob previously served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), a nonprofit membership organization working with major global companies to promote more ethical, responsible and sustainable business policies and practices. Bob has served as a board member or advisor of other international and national groups working on business responsibility. Bob was Vice President for Corporate Affairs at Levi Strauss & Co., where his responsibilities included the Levi Strauss Foundation and the company’s philanthropic initiatives. He also spent 10 years in the public sector, serving in the Carter White House, the US Embassy in Mexico City and as Chief of Staff and a Cabinet Secretary for the Governor of Wisconsin. Bob currently serves on several boards including the Culture Project which works address human rights issues through the arts; the advisory board for Spark-Her, an initiative focused on identifying and training women social entrepreneurs; and the board of Raaka Chocolates, a US-based social enterprise. Bob has taught at Wesleyan University and the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. He frequently gives speeches and interviews about the role of leaders and cross-sector partnerships in addressing the complex problems of poverty, equity and social justice.
