Tom Wick is the chief advancement officer and managing director for the Urban Education Institute (UEI). For the last seven years, Wick has represented UEI with top prospective donors and supported the efforts of University of Chicago president Robert Zimmer, UEI director Tim Knowles, and others to raise $80 million. As chief advancement officer, Wick is responsible for a comprehensive advancement program and serves as secretary of the University of Chicago Charter School Governing Board. Wick has spent nearly 25 years in higher education fundraising and alumni relations. Before coming to the University of Chicago in 2004, Wick worked at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Lake Forest College, Macalester College, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education in a range of positions including director of the annual fund, director of development, associate vice president of development, and dean of development and alumni relations. In each role, Wick worked closely with trustees, the president, volunteers, and colleagues to raise the resources the institution needed to fulfill its mission more effectively.
