Mary Rockett Brock joined the Atlanta Dream's ownership group in January 2011 and is avid sports advocate. Brock serves on the Boards of Trustees of Usher’s New Look Foundation and Spelman College, the Boards of Directors of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Metro Atlanta Chamber and Horizons National, a program for underserved youth that focuses on the learning achievement gap with 36 affiliates across the country, and the Board of Advisors of the Winship Cancer Institute. Mary and her husband John have funded chairs in biomedical engineering at Emory University and Georgia Institute of Technology with a particular emphasis on cancer research. They support scholarships in the Department of Chemical Engineering and have been active supporters of Georgia Tech Athletics, where they funded the major leadership gift for the Georgia Tech "John and Mary Brock Football Facility." A native of Moss Point, MS, Mary graduated summa cum laude from Miami University of Ohio, earning her Bachelor of Science in Science and Math Education and her Masters of Science Education in Curriculum Development. The Brocks, who grew up together on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, were married 45 years ago while John was a student at Georgia Tech, and moved to Atlanta eight years ago. Previously, they lived in Wilton, CT, and Cincinnati, OH, and a 10-year stint in Europe, living in Brussels, Belgium, and London. They have three children - Rebecca, John IV and Major - and five grandchildren - John V, Everett Mary, Leighton Annise, Lily Anise and Alexis Noelle.
