Sara Crown Star graduated from the UNC-Chapel Hill (B.S., 1982), received her law degree from Georgetown University (’85), and graduated from The Wexner Heritage Program in 2000. She practiced law in New York City and Chicago, specializing in real estate and estate planning. Ms. Star is involved in a number of non-profit organizations, including: Crown Family Philanthropies (Director), Crown Family Foundation (Director), The Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago (Director and Major Gifts Campaign Chair), Erikson Institute (Trustee), Hebrew Union College (Governor) and Georgetown University Law Center (Board of Visitors). Ms. Star has served on the boards of the the Latin School of Chicago, the Craniofacial Center of the University of Illinois, the Chicago Urban League, the National Bladder Foundation and as a volunteer for the Joffrey Ballet, the American Heart Association, the Thacher School and Giordano Dance Chicago. She and her husband, James, live in Chicago and have three children who attended Latin.
