Charlotte began her career in advertising as an account executive at J. Walter Thompson becoming the first female Senior Vice President in the firm's history. She then was called to bring her skills as a turnaround agent to Tatham-Laird Kutner as CEO. This success led to her next position of Chairman/CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, a $5.4 billion, 8,000-employee multinational advertising agency where billings increased by $2 billion during her 5-year tenure. Harvard Business School still teaches their best-selling case study on leadership titled "Charlotte Beers at Ogilvy." Served as Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs from 2001-2003. She was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, the State Department's highest honor, for her service.
