The Very Rev. Anthony M. “Mickey” Genovese, O.S.A. is the Prior Provincial of the Province of Saint Thomas of Villanova since his election in February, 2010. In this role, Father Mickey is responsible for Augustinian Ministries in the Eastern United States, Japan, South Africa and Peru. Father Mickey brings to this new call to service in the Province much life experience, a strong faith, a dedication top the Augustinian way of life, a spirit of compassion and a passionate commitment to service and priestly ministry. Prior to the role, Father Mickey served as the Prior of Saint Thomas Monastery on the campus of Villanova University and was responsible for the health care of the elder and infirm friars of the Province of Saint Thomas of Villanova. Father Mickey also served as the Pastor of St. Nicholas of Tolentine in the Bronx, was a member of the University Heights Development Corporation which worked on preserving housing in the Bronx, member 1983-86 and served as its Chair in 1986. In addition, Father Mickey was a member of the Fordham Road Redevelopment Corporation which redeveloped Fordham Road to maintain business in the Bronx. During this time was also member of the State Human rights Commission for Bronx County, New York. Father Mickey received his BA from Villanova University in Philosophy. Father Mickey pursued his Theological Studies at the Augustinian College in Washington, DC. Father Mickey was ordained to the priesthood on June 16, 1973 at Our Mother of Consolation Catholic Church, Chestnut Hill, PA.
