Heidi Y. Hu ’85 received a B.S. in economics from Lewis & Clark College and earned her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. She is a community volunteer and a private investor, retired from Transamerica Investment Management, LLC. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Ms. Hu joined Transamerica Investment Management, LLC in 1998 where she was principal, managing director and portfolio manager, serving as the lead manager of fixed income for Transamerica Balanced and Transamerica Value Balanced. She was also co-manager of Transamerica U.S. Government Securities and managed sub-advised funds and institutional accounts in the balanced and fixed income disciplines. Prior to her work with Transamerica, she was portfolio manager for Arco Investment Management Company. In 2009, Heidi Hu joined the board of directors of Opal Creek Ancient Forest Center, a Portland-based non-profit founded in 1989 as Friends of Opal Creek. Heidi Hu is married to Daniel “Dan” Hsieh. Mr. Hsieh develops new business opportunities and evaluates strategic investments and partnerships for ION Media Networks, Inc. In addition to his work on ION’s long-range plans, he supports various key initiatives across the company’s operational areas and has played a major role in introducing new mobile and digital services. Previous positions include serving as president of MTC Services LLC and senior vice president of corporate strategy, business development and technology for The Walt Disney Company. He holds a B.S. in engineering and applied sciences from Harvard University and an M.B.A. in finance and international business from the University of Chicago.
