Alex Kern is an associate at University of California Berkeley, where he is a candidate for a bachelors degree in Computer Science. At the age of 9, he taught himself to program and quickly became obsessed with software engineering. As a sophomore in high school, Alex began working at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he automated motor testing processes for the Mars Curiosity Rover. The following year, he pioneered innovative data storage techniques used for many of JPL’s satellites and rovers. He is currently developing real-time fraud prevention algorithms at Apple. Alex enjoys crafting open source software, producing electronic music, and obsessing over great typography.
