Ben worked at the White House under President Ronald Reagan and was a White House appointed speechwriter to the U.S. Secretary of Energy during the Gulf War. He was a Fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He is a partner at The Mustang Group, a Boston alternative investment firm. . Ben is a senior manager and entrepreneur with 10+ years of management experience in both the private and public sectors. Ben most served as campaign manager for Mitt Romney's successful run for Governor of Massachusetts in 2002. Prior to the Romney campaign, he was president of Beachfire, and he founded and was president and CEO of eSprocket and spent five years as principal and general manager of Iron Road Railways Incorporated. Mr. Coes began his career in the public sector as a White House intern under President Reagan, then as a White House-appointed speechwriter to former U.S. Secretary of Energy James Watkins. In 1994, Mr. Coes was responsible for Republican Party efforts in Maine and scored the third highest electoral gains in the country. He also became a senior aide on the presidential campaign of former California Governor Pete Wilson. He graduated from Columbia College, where he won the Bennett Cerf Memorial Prize for Fiction.
