Charles Weltner, is a former Democratic Congressman from Georgia, and is now in the private practice of law in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Weltner resigned his congressional seat when he refused to run on the ticket which required him to support Lester Maddox in the gubernatorial race. He led the investigation of the Klan conducted by the House Un-American Activities Committee and has recently been involved as defense counsel in one of the My Lai cases. Mr. Weltner holds the A.B. from Oglethorpe University and the LL.B. from Columbia University.
