Michael Segal is the managing partner of Fred Segal Family LLC, where he oversees worldwide branding for Fred Segal, internationally known for more than 50 years for trend-setting fashion. Segal graduated from Pomona College with a degree in sociology in 1979. He went on to earn a master’s degree in theatre arts (motion picture/television critical studies) at UCLA. Community service is very important to Segal, who serves as a trustee at Harvard-Westlake School (Board Vice-chair and Chair of the Building and Grounds Committee); trustee at Pomona College; trustee at the University of Richmond; director of Heal the Bay, a nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to improving Santa Monica Bay and educating more than 25,000 students annually about water quality; director of the Good Hope Medical Foundation; director of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council; and member of the advisory board of the Partnership Scholars. Segal and his wife, Leanne, have three daughters, and Kaitlin, their middle daughter, traveled aboard the MS Explorer, Spring 2010. All five of the Segals love to travel the world, especially by sea.
