Maryana Iskander is CEO of the Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator based in Johannesburg, South Africa. From 2006-2012 she served as Chief Operating Officer of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America in New York, and currently sits on the national Planned Parenthood board of directors. Maryana formerly served as Adviser to the President of Rice University, where she oversaw an ambitious strategic planning process and partnerships between the university and the city of Houston, Texas. She has also served as a law clerk to Judge Diane P. Wood of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She was an associate at global consultancy McKinsey & Co., a strategy consultant for W.L. Gore & Associates, and a law clerk at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York, and Vinson & Elkins in Houston. Maryana earned a B.A. from Rice University, a M.Sc. from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, and a J.D. from Yale Law School. Maryana is a member of the 2006 class of Henry Crown Fellows at the Aspen Institute.
