Rosemary Jordano Shore

Rosemary Jordano founded and ran ChildrenFirst, Inc., one of the nation's first and largest network of backup child-care centers from its inception in 1992 until 2004, when she stepped down from her position as CEO and Chairman. During her tenure, ChildrenFirst, Inc. grew to serve more than 250 corporate clients in ten top metropolitan markets across the U.S. and Canada. In addition, Roe participated in the Presidential Summit for America's Future and the White House Conference on Child Care and her company was included in the Secretary of Labor's "Working Women Count" Honor Roll. She is a recipient of The Boston Jaycees' "1998 Top Ten Outstanding Young Leaders" award, the "Pinnacle Award" for achievement in business from the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, the Stanford Graduate School of Business' "Business Leadership Award", and the 1997-98 "Leading Women Award" from the Patriot's Trail Girl Scout Council. She serves on the Regis College board of trustees, the Dana-Farber leadership council, the Woman's Health Leadership Forum at Brigham & Woman's Hospital, and the Wellesley College Business Leadership Council. Roe graduated magna cum laude with a bachelors degree in Economics and Psychology from Wellesley College in 1984. She holds a M.Sc. in Developmental Psychology from Oxford University, and received an MBA from Stanford University in 1989. She and her husband Billy Shore, who heads the Share our Strength organization, make their home in Boston, MA. Rosemary is a member of the 2002 class of Henry Crown Fellows at the Aspen Institute.
